Why Do Callagenix Not Use Personal (07000) Numbers?

The services from Callagenix offer greater functionality and capabilities than the divert functions personal numbers offer, and we use the more comfortable freephone, national, regional and local rate numbers.

I want to use the services but retain my existing number

Basically, you get a number from Callagenix, attach your service to it and then divert your existing telephone number to the new Callagenix number. That's it!

This works if your published number is a normal geographic exchange number (e.g. 01628 484214) then you can arrange to have this diverted to the Callagenix number of your choice (we would currently recomend the use of a Regional number for this purpose). You will need to contact your telephone service supplier to do this. The process for BT is outlined below.

BT Call Diversion

For customers who do not wish to change their current telephone number but still wish to take advantage of all the services offered by Callagenix, you can arrange for BT to divert your current number to your new Callagenix number. There are two ways to do this:

You need to do this as BT will check who you are and that the number you wish to have diverted is yours. Once the divert has been set up, the following instructions are used to control this service. (NB. BT can take up to four hours to do this).

To divert all calls to your existing number to your Callagenix number:
On your tone telephone, dial * 21 * (YOUR CALLAGENIX NUMBER) #

To divert calls to your existing number when busy to your Callagenix number:
On your tone telephone, dial * 67* (YOUR CALLAGENIX NUMBER) #

To divert calls to your existing number when not answered within 15 seconds to your Callagenix number:
On your tone telephone, dial * 61 * (YOUR CALLAGENIX NUMBER) #

You can check your existing BT call diversion state by:
On your tone telephone, dial *# (21 or 61 or 67) #

To turn the divert off and receive calls directly to your old number (Not the Callagenix Number):
On your tone telephone, dial # 21 #

Charges: BT currently charges £4.50 per quarter for this service, you also are liable for the cost of the BT diverted call
